Running on the flat the upper and lower body work equally

NOTE

The arms drive the legs ...not the other way round!

 

Do ...

  1. Have relaxed hands and thumbs
  2. Avoid having hands crossed over the chest
  3. Have elbows at 90 degrees
  4. Have elbow/wrist to hip action
  5. Have shoulders relaxed and easy

 

Don't

  1. Pump
  2. Rotate
  3. Extend too far backwards/too far forwards
Hills are different …

Up hill the arms work more and 

Downhill they work less
