Gears and Stride Length

Gears and Stride Length

The ankle should float up behind with the gears governed by the stride length

Stride length progesses from zero when running on the spot to longest and fastest when sprinting

Stride length is NOT achieved by stretching forward and over striding.

Relax - Hips, legs, arms, shoulders, hands and jaw - this is the key to a relaxed and fluid running style.

Change of pace

It is critical to control and vary the pace:

For warm up or recovery

For a conversational running pace

For a race pace blocking out all other distractions

For a pace to the end of the line
